You know what’s not fun? Getting out of my warm snuggly bed full of fluffy puppies, my cute boyfriend, and the softest pillows EVER! When my alarm goes off at 4:50 am my first thought is “just a little bit longer.” So, I press snooze, give myself 10 more minutes, and then crawl my booty outta the bed that I love so very much. I spend the next ten minutes brushing my teeth, slowly pulling on spandex that I set out the night before, and making my too long hair look presentable in a bun. I grab a cup of coffee that was set on a timer and then I’m out the door by 5:10. I’m a freak. I know it. Why would I willingly get myself out of bed that early when I’m my own boss, when I make my own schedule, when I could pay someone else to do it? I do it because it’s worth it. It’s worth it for me to wake up to that alarm three mornings per week in order to make a change. When I hit the studio doors at 5:15 I have time to grab the workout I wrote, set up my mat, and take a deep breathe before my boot campers begin trickling in. We’re all in the same boat. Maybe they have kitties instead of puppies or husbands/wives instead of boyfriends/girlfriends or maybe even a house full of sleeping family members. Either way, none of us are pumped to pop out of bed before the crack of dawn. But we do it because it’s worth it. It’s worth it to treat our bodies well. It’s worth it to do something for this amazing body that we get to call our own. It’s worth it for me to show up to help you in your journey towards health and happiness. It’s worth it for me to see your confidence grow, your relationships improve, your light brighten. Yes, I love to see your body change. I love to see your reaction when you do your first box jump or handstand, but I love it more when your opinion of yourself improves. When you begin to love that body of yours and how it has changed your life for the better. So I’ll keep waking up, showing up, and being present, because it’s worth it. You’re worth it.
