Why Fitness?

I started this blog so that everyone can get a glimpse of my heart. By that I mean that I want you to see the heart of Fusion Fitness and Yoga. It is difficult for me to convey certain things in the oh-so-short hour that I get to see you. I want to give you a chance to see why I wake up at 4:30 three days a week and can’t stop smiling.

The reason I started Fusion Fitness and Yoga is so that I can share what fitness has done for me. It has given me confidence. It has given me great friends. It has given me health. It has given me support during struggles. It has given me life. I want every person that comes to Fusion Boot Camp, yoga, or a personal training session to have the opportunity to experience those same things. I want to create a family. A place where you can learn, grow, and be supported.

I am constantly surprised by the people I meet at races. We are there to compete with one another. We are there to cross the finish line before as many people as possible. We are there to win. But, the other racers are always willing to chat about training, offer an encouraging word, and congratulate you on a race well done. They tell you about the next race and hope that you will be up to the challenge. They want you to continue on, to push yourself. In the beginning I didn’t understand this. Why would my competition want me to succeed? Later, I realized that they had a joy far to valuable to keep to themselves. The feeling that comes along with setting a goal and reaching it. The feeling of pride, accomplishment, power. That is the same feeling that I want you to experience.
